Serving Jacksonville and beyond, Allsite Contracting has assisted commercial developers with design-phase work on civil and utility construction projects since 1995. Strong Beginnings
Steve started making his way through the ranks of major civil construction companies right out of school—first as foreman, then as superintendent, and eventually as project manager. By 1995, he had already worked in nearly every aspect of the civil construction business, including billing and estimating. So, he founded Allsite as a small-but-mighty company with only four employees.
Today, the family-owned company, guided by Christian values, has grown to include 85 staffers, including several family members like Steve’s son, Daniel Bell. “We’re a strong company here in Jacksonville, with a ton of repeat customers,” says Daniel, Allsite’s president. “That’s what keeps us so successful.”
“In a lot of companies, employees are treated like a number,” adds Steve. “Here, we get to know employees and their families. We give our employees good health care, insurance, profit sharing, and a 401(k) match. We treat them well, and in turn, they do good work for us.”
Solid staffing in the field and Allsite’s offices alike ultimately translate into “rock-solid relationships with repeat customers.” Clients appreciate the company’s heavy emphasis on strong communication, which they achieve not only through weekly coordination meetings but also by keeping a steady eye on the projects ahead. In turn, the Allsite team stays on time, on budget, and on track to meet major project milestones.
Steve, Daniel, and the rest of the Allsite team prioritize giving back to a community that has given them so much. In addition to supporting local youth sports, the company works extensively with Jacksonville nonprofits like Habitat for Humanity and local orphanages by donating dumpster services. “We help them save a few dollars so they can set that money aside for the next person,” says Daniel.
Looking toward continued growth over the next 30 years, Steve and Daniel both look forward to meeting new clients and building strong relationships. While Allsite continues to stay one step ahead by embracing all the latest industry technology—equipment and software alike—the company retains old-school values.
“We still love a good handshake and a person standing behind their word,” concludes Steve.
