About Dr. Mona Jensen

Dr. Jensen has achieved a high level of success throughout her career of over four decades. She has often been only one of a few women in her chosen fields. Dr. Jensen credits her mother, Louise, a math teacher, for setting her on her current path. Due to the outbreak of World War II and her pregnancy with the future Dr. Jensen, Louise set aside her studies and her pursuit of a PhD in mathematics. Inspired by her mother, Dr. Jensen sought an academic career in math and science.

In 1966, Dr. Jensen received a Bachelor of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a notable achievement as one of a handful of women enrolled at the time. Later, she received a PhD in biochemistry in 1973 from Cornell University. In 1983, Dr. Jensen acquired a Master of Business Administration in finance from Babson College.

A pioneer in the corporate sector, Dr. Jensen has consistently achieved a high level of success. An example of her excellence in the workplace is that Dr. Jensen directly reported to the head of staff at the corporations where she was employed, which was very uncommon for women in her position.

Dr. Jensen has held many positions throughout her career, including researcher, biochemist, senior scientist, R&D Manager, and author. She has held a variety of managerial positions at companies IDEXX Laboratories Inc., and Instrumentation Laboratory. As an author, Dr. Jensen has been a contributor to articles in professional journals. Dr. Jensen has announced the publication of a new book titled "Everyone is Related: Genealogy of an American Family." The first book in the trilogy (which will encapsulate five volumes) was published in October. She recently completed volume two of her research, in two books, and is currently working on the third volume. They are available on Amazon.

Utilizing her education and dedication to service, Dr. Jensen joined the adjunct faculty at W. Alton Jones Cell Science Center in Lake Placid, New York, in the 1970s. She has also served as a special reviewer for In Vitro, a proposal reviewer for the National Science Foundation, and a sub-communications adviser to the National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards.

Dr. Jensen's area of expertise is "the general topic of clinical chemistry." Among the list of Dr. Jensen's achievements are two patents, the development of numerous clinical assay regents and instruments that had a significant impact on both human and veterinary medical diagnosis, and pioneering research on environmental control in cell culture. The World Health Organization awarded her a research grant in the early 1980s.

Dr. Jensen used her wealth of experience from her endeavors in the corporate world to co-found Jensen Craft Enterprises Inc., in 1998. She is the current president of the company.
