On January 28, 2011, Meritage Homes Corporation (the Company) paid discretionary cash bonuses to certain of its employees and officers. These bonuses, which were approved by the Companys Executive Compensation Committee, were in recognition of the employees efforts and accomplishments during a particularly challenging economic environment in 2010. Included in these bonus awards were payments to the following named executive officers (NEOs):
