SCOTTISHPOWER TRADING UPDATE.
ScottishPower is today issuing a trading statement prior to entering its close period and the announcement of its preliminary results on 24 May 2005.
Our outlook for the group for the full year to 31 March 2005 remains unchanged from that indicated in our third quarter statement on 10 February 2005.
In the quarter, increased contribution from UK Divisions Damhead Creek and Brighton power stations and PPMs energy management activities offset a slightly lower than expected contribution from PacifiCorp due to low rain fall reducing hydro electric availability.
Over the winter there has also been less snow than usual, which will reduce the availability of PacifiCorps hydro generation during the next six months. While this will impact PacifiCorps result for the year to 31 March 2006, our expectations for the group are unchanged.
