Conversations: Conscious Fluidity- An ART NFT Exhibition

By: Issuewire

Hong Kong, Hong Kong S.A.R. Jun 2, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Q9 Capital is pleased to announce the latest exhibition, 'Conversations: Conscious Fluidity', in collaboration with Artdott, a streaming digital art platform for boundary-pushing artists. Taking place at the Q9 Crypto Hub, the presentation is a physical showcase of Non-Fungible Tokens ('NFTs') featuring a select group of Artdott's premier artists. The exhibition runs from 1st - 30th June 2022.

Examining topics that relate to nature, society, and imagination, the works of six NFT artists are presented in three parts, respectively titled 'Fragile Balance', 'Symbolic Unity', and 'Alternative Me'. Alluding to factors that both constitute and symbolise human reality and existence, the artworks showcased are by Andy Thomas, Margo Trushina, Francesca Ruth Levuu, Kelsey Rath, John Wong, and Taras Zheltyshev. Presented together to weave a story, the curated selection of NFTs in varying styles and formats create a conversation that is as thought-provoking as it is indicative of our times.

Part 1: Fragile Balance
The curation starts with an exploration of the many faces of Nature, to examine the elements that constitute life and that sustain its balance. Inspired by his travels to the ancient rainforests, Australian artist Andy Thomas fuses imageries of flora with rare sounds to create 'audio life forms'. Using digital technology and algorithms, he captures the essence of organic life forms and expresses their beauty via unique sound sculptures. On the other hand, Moscow-born London-based artist Margo Trushina delves deeply into bio-art, examining environmental concerns as expressed through her own personal bodily experiences.

Her recreations of living sculptures and environments in video art reflect upon recent discoveries in neuroscience, biotechnology, and ecology, but can also be seen as a call to action. In addition, English artist Francesca Ruth Levuu incorporates memories, technology, and nature in her dreamy oeuvres, layering them amidst the beauty of natural landscapes. Her ethereal-looking works reconnect viewers with nature to engage with and celebrate the source of life.

Part 2: Symbolic Unity
The second part of the exhibition expands upon the notion of Society, exemplifying the ideas of community and culture. American artist Kelsey Rath finds inspiration in familiar everyday objects and cultural icons, especially historical artifacts prevalent in Americana. Her arresting collages consist of appropriated images that convey nostalgia and retro charm, providing the viewer with relatable and relevant content for engagement. On the other hand, UK-based Hong Kong artist John Wong references the 'Book of Changes' (the I-Ching) - the ancient Chinese divination text dating back to 1000 BC, which is also a common source for both Confucianists and Taoist philosophy. Through carefully constrained algorithms, Chinese characters are presented in a hypnotic manner, questioning trust, self-identity, and superstition vis-a-vis Chinese traditional culture and new technology.

Part 3: Alternative Me
The final section of the presentation explores a new reality - meta-worlds. Russian artist Taras Zheltyshev's YOOMOOTA universe is a reflection of deeper consciousness, a digitally- created parallel universe where human emotions and physiology carry equal weight as in the physical world. Quirky characters from Curiosity Planet - one of the nine planets in YOOMOOTA - embody the ideals of the 'PFP' culture, with different attributes that contribute to their 'rarity'. They challenge us to question the value of our physical existence when avatars are used as a projection of oneself.

Presented together, the curated selection weaves a story that traces the evolution of everyday reality - one that provides the framework for human existence. Visitors to the exhibition are invited to explore all three parts of the exhibition to further engage with the artworks as well as to learn more about NFTs. As non-interchangeable units of data stored on the blockchain, NFTs assure unique signature and ownership and have grown to be a significant sector in the art industry, increasingly collected by connoisseurs, aficionados, and novice collectors alike.
