Floris UMC is one of the partner organizations set to host the Hypothermia Prevention Program on February 13-20,2022 to house all guests in our facility.
HERNDON, Va. - Feb. 13, 2022 - PRLog -- This year, Floris UMC's Guest House is back from February 13-20. We will host over 40 individuals at the Hypothermia Prevention Program through our partnership with FACETS.
It is still COVID, and it is still COLD.
During the cold weather months, Floris is one of 50 faith communities in our area who work together to offer this needed care to prevent severe discomfort and hypothermia for those who are without housing.
At the Floris Guest House, everyone receives a hot dinner, breakfast, place to sleep and shower. Our guests also have an opportunity to take part in several evening activities.
"We open our building to persons who are homeless in our area as our guests. Over the course of our week, we will distribute over 700 meals to individuals who are unhoused in our area." – Sarah Casey, SERVE Ministries Director
