Conquering the Mental Health Effects of COVID-19 at Conquer Recovery Center

LOS ANGELES - August 13, 2020 - (Newswire.com)

Conquer Recovery Center, a drug and alcohol residential treatment program in Los Angeles, has helped patients with mental health issues exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the very beginning, Conquer has offered uninterrupted service to its patients.

Polling has found that 45% of United States adults “reported that their mental health has been negatively impacted due to worry and stress over the virus.” Proactive measures taken to slow the spread of the virus, such as shelter-in-place orders, social distancing, as well as the closing of businesses, schools, and more, have contributed to this.

Conquer assists those who have struggled with mental health issues as well as addictions. Individual therapy, group therapy, aquatic therapy, yoga therapy, massage therapy, and others have been utilized by those who are struggling. Where applicable, these treatments have been made available through remote means.

Social distancing, placement of hand sanitizer, temperature checks, mandatory mask-wearing, and other CDC approved COVID-19 measures have been taken at the facility.

Doctors have begun to see an increase in drug and alcohol relapses due to the pandemic, stating “isolation and emotional distress can be significant triggers to relapse.” These are all conditions that Conquer Recovery Centers were designed to assist with.

“It’s impossible to overstate the negative effect that COVID-19 can have on mental health. Even if someone never contracts the disease, the necessary measures that have been taken to combat the disease can have a serious, deleterious effect on anyone’s mental health. This can be especially damaging for those battling addiction, as they’re already in a difficult struggle. Here at Conquer, we’ve been helping folks throughout this entire process. We’ve taken any and all measures to make our facility as safe as possible, implementing remote and virtual therapies and treatments wherever we can. As facts on the ground change, so do our efforts. If someone is in a tough way right now, whether they have a problem with addiction or not, we encourage them to reach out to us. We’ll be here to support you,” said David Davitian of Conquer Recovery Center.

Conquer Recovery Center is open for detox and residential treatment, accepting new patients at this time.
