CyLumena and SDLC Partners Join Forces to Securely Migrate Big Brother Big Sisters Pittsburgh to Cloud OperationsThe downtown cybersecurity and business technology consultancies save BBBS more than $45K over three years while transforming digital operations with Littles, Bigs, families, and donors.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh is migrating digital operations and infrastructure to the cloud with technical and cybersecurity support and consulting from CyLumena and SDLC Partners, both headquartered in Pittsburgh.

The migration effort to the Microsoft Cloud will be fully funded by both consultancies as well as conducting a Microsoft Office 365 Security Assessment, and implementing SecureSky’s Active Protection Platform for security management, monitoring, and support.

Upfront costs, as well as one year of ongoing IT services support for Microsoft Office 365 and cybersecurity support, equaling over $45K, will be donated by CyLumena and SDLC Partners as part of our commitment and core value to give back to the community. This project will drastically improve operational efficiency, flexibility, and security.

“One of BBBS’ mottos is “Ignite. Empower. Defend.” That is just what CyLumena and SDLC Partners is doing for our organization. They’ve ignited innovation for our most critical digital operations. They’ve empowered our organization with the latest cloud technologies. And, they’re defending our cloud presence with the best security software on the market. Add to that their generosity to provide services and support, at a reduced cost. It’s a digital transformation that will position BBBS to do more, faster, and better for children from the greater Pittsburgh area,” stated Jan Glick, Chief Executive Officer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh.

Dave Golding, Director of Growth and Enablement at CyLumena, reflects on the non-profit’s digital transformation, “Our team, and the pros from SDLC Partners, are ecstatic to lend our business, technical, and cybersecurity expertise to such a worthy and important organization in the Pittsburgh region. Going to the cloud will enable modern digital tools and capabilities that have the potential to revolutionize their operations and give them the infrastructure to keep growing and serving more children and families.”

Migrating to the cloud will allow BBBS to achieve simplified remote access, which is critical for operations during the pandemic and fluid shelter-in-place requirements. BBBS staff will access information, software, and computing power from home through safe, encrypted cloud services. Moving to the cloud also cuts costs when non-profits are taking a leaner approach to IT expenses, eliminating BBBS’ reliance on conventional on-premise servers and software, as well as operationally supporting IT infrastructure.
