John Mini Distinctive Landscapes Celebrates Earth Day

Did You Hear the Buzz? John Mini Distinctive Landscapes Saves the Bees on Earth Day

NEW YORK, NY, April 18, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Earth Day is a day to not only celebrate but also pay attention to the world we live in. Even though we should commit to treating the Earth with care every day, utilizing this day is a good start. John Mini Distinctive Landscapes is excited to share the news that we will be lending a hand to help the declining bee population on Earth Day!

John Mini Distinctive Landscapes stands by many values, including "Be resourceful and solve problems," "Be passionate and have fun," "Cherish nature," and "Collaborate relentlessly." These deeply ingrained values directly correlate to the Earth Day event we hope to see you at.

On April 22, we will have a display set up at the Brookfield Winter Garden, located at 230 Vesey Street in New York City. At this display, we will be handing out seed paper containing wildflower seeds to support the declining bee population. Our mission is to shed light on their importance and help create an environment where they can thrive. So, come visit us and start planting!

According to beeinformed.org, "for the entire survey period (1 April 2017 – 1 April 2018), beekeepers in the U.S. lost an estimated 40.1% of their managed honey bee colonies. This is 2.7 percentage points greater than the average annual rate of loss experienced by beekeepers since 2010-2011."

We rely on bees to pollinate the food we eat as well as pollinate the food that our food eats! In addition, cotton plants require pollination from bees in order to get the cotton we use for clothing, coffee filters, bandages and much more. We also use their beeswax for a multitude of products and even use bee venom (aka apitherapy) as an alternative medicinal aid to several diseases. When bees pollinate, they help plants grow, breed, and produce food. If it wasn't for them transferring pollen between flowers, we would lose a lot of everyday products and food. The vast majority of plants we need for food rely on pollination. Some of this food includes almonds, vanilla, apples, squash, and many more.

We're excited and passionate about providing you with the resources to help alleviate this problem. Let's collaborate and cherish nature together, especially on Earth Day.

Come out and enjoy nature on Earth day, stop by and get some seed paper. When your wildflowers bloom, take a picture and tag us on Instagram (@jmdlandscapes)! The more we participate in taking care of the world we live in, the longer we can live in it. We hope to see you there!
