Teach Students How to Control Sensors & Motors with LabVIEW and NI myRIO

By: PRLog
Dig Deeper into Robotics and Controls Concepts with the Sensor & Motor Training Kit for NI myRIO and LabVIEW from Studica.
SANBORN, N.Y. - Jan. 23, 2019 - PRLog -- Studica discovered that in many robotics competitions, students were simply going through the motions without truly grasping the subsystems and the code behind their work. Noticing a great opportunity to address this weakness, Studica developed the Robotics Sensor & Motor Training Kit for NI myRIO and LabVIEW. This innovative kit includes a Sensor Training Board and a Motor Training Board that easily plug into the myRIO and is available exclusively at Studica. The kit provides all the materials required to get started. Here is an example experiment using a photoresistor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlGiifSw6r0.

As a Global Partner with WorldSkills International for the Mobile Robotics Competition, Studica continually strives to provide the best components and supplies to all its customers, particularly competing robotics teams. By researching the robotics competition landscape, Studica identified the need for an educational tool that teaches the basics of LabVIEW while at the same time helping students develop a complete understanding of how to control sensors, motors, and actuators. "At Studica, we dedicate ourselves to developing robotics skills across the globe. We constantly research, listen, and learn so we can provide the best technologies. We proudly present this innovative kit that helps students build a clear understanding of how sensors and motors work with NI LabVIEW and the myRIO. This new kit is an excellent tool for schools competing in the WRO Advanced Robotics Challenge, WorldSkills Mobile Robotics, FIRST Robotics, and other robotics competitions," said Frank Nanfara, President & CEO, Studica.

In addition to the Sensor Training Board and the Motor Training Board, the kit includes connection cables, relevant sensors, motors, a power adaptor, and courseware. The courseware provides a variety of experiments that build an understanding of sensors, motors, and actuators.
