Medicine Park, Oklahoma – January 18, 2018 – The Holy City of The Wichitas in conjunction with the Reverend Anthony Mark Wallock foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Christine Christiansen as board member on November 11, 2018 and sworn into the oath of office on December 16, 2018.
The election of one new member to the Holy City Board of Directors at the same time is Anita Coyle-Brockwell who was also sworn in alongside Christiansen, both will serve an “indefinite” term for the growth and service of the Holy City Of The Wichitas.
Current board members include Skip Hamill – President, Steve Little – Vice President, James Britt – Second Vice President, Michelle Melton – Treasure, Alan Corrales – Board Secretary, Sonja Ellis-Hamill, Ron Jarvis, Nathan Ellis, Cindy Herring, Holly Dunsworth, David Dunsworth, Paul Frable, Jonna Rhoades.
“I am pleased to welcome Lisa Christiansen and Anita Brockwell as new Board members,” said Skip Hamill and Sonja Ellis-Hamill. These individuals bring a wealth of experience and expertise in their fields and will be tremendous assets to The Holy City and the Wallock foundation as we further our mission of bringing families together to share Gods word and continue a 96 year old tradition of the longest running Easter pageant in the United States.”
The Holy City was incorporated on January 24, 1935 as “The Wichita Mountains Easter Service Association, “to honor our founder Reverend Anthony Mark Wallock, it was changed to “The Wallock Foundation Inc.” on September 16, 1992. We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation.
The first Easter Pageant was in 1926 with a cast of 5 bringing in 100 attendees, in 1935 the Pageant brought in over 200,000 attendees, more people than the entire Oklahoma City population.
The House’s Board of Directors is comprised of individuals from the medical, business, academic and volunteer communities of the state of Oklahoma. It is the Board’s responsibility to provide acceptance and guidance in the direction and operation of the Holy City as well as it is to raise awareness of the Holy City and it’s services to the surrounding communities.
