CHLORINE GAS ATTACKS THREATENING THE SAFETY OF FIRST-RESPONDERS & CIVILIANS

By: Get News

FORT MYERS, Florida – FAST-ACT, a chemical decontamination provider, has focused its attention on the growing issue of chemical attacks and the potential danger these attacks can leave in an area. In recent news, a large number of residents from Aleppo, Syria were admitted to the hospital with major complaints of breathing difficulties – which can only mean one thing, a chemical gas attack was likely the root cause of the complete health disarray in this area. The dangers associated with this style of attacks is far-reaching, impacting large groups of individuals in a short amount of time due to the strength and brutality of the chemical agent utilized.

Chemical gas attacks have grown into an alarming threat in recent years, with attacks of this nature escalating from 2013 to 2017 in Syria and other parts of the world. From 2014 to 2017 in Syria alone, there were an estimated 26 chlorine chemical attacks that were deployed upon civilians, leaving complete wreckage in its wake. The Director of Technology at FAST-ACT, Kyle Knappenberger spoke extensively on the growing risks that first-responders face when dealing with this type of attack, “Often times, first-responders arrive to a scene where there is little to no information on the hazards present – leaving these individuals at risk of extreme exposure to potentially lethal chemicals that have been deployed into the environment. FAST-ACT, however, can offer Emergency Responders a level of protection that has never before existed.”
