Granite Construction Incorporated (NYSE: GVA) has announced the appointment of Michael W. Barker as Vice President and Corporate Controller. Barker will report to Jigisha Desai, Granite's Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Barker has served as Assistant Controller since November 2015, where he has been responsible for leading the Controller’s Group to ensure financial risks are mitigated and financial information is delivered timely and accurately. He brings extensive technical accounting knowledge and strong leadership skills to his new role.

Barker received a B.S. in Accountancy from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and is a Certified Public Accountant.
