[PR Newswire] – ATLANTA, June 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Delta Air Lines (DAL) claimed the 44th spot for U.S. companies, leading all other airlines, in the 2016 Newsweek Green Rankings, one of the world’s foremost corporate environmental rankings. “Delta people are implementing processes and systems to minimize our carbon footprint across the company,” said Christine Boucher, Delta’s Managing Director – Global Environment and Sustainability. Newsweek Green Rankings assesses the 500 largest publicly-traded companies in the United States and the 500 largest publicly-traded companies globally on overall environmental performance. Read more on this. Delta Air Lines, Inc. (DAL) , currently valued at $31.97B, began trading this morning at $42.22. Looking at the equity, the company’s one day range is $41.25 to $42.40 with a trailing 52-week range being $34.61 to $52.77. Priced at 6.51x this year’s forecasted earnings, DAL shares are relatively inexpensive compared to the industry’s 10.94x forward p/e ratio. And for dividend hunters, the company pays shareholders $0.54 per share annually in dividends, yielding 1.24%. In a review of the consensus earnings estimate this quarter, 14 sell-side analysts are looking at $1.85 per share, which would be $0.58 better than the year-ago quarter and a $0.10 sequential decrease. What we find to be interesting is that the full-year EPS estimate of $6.52 is a $1.91 better when compared to the previous year’s annual results. The quarterly earnings estimate is predicated on a consensus revenue forecast of $10.64 Billion. If reported, that would be a 0.65% decrease over the year-ago quarter. More recently, Deutsche Bank downgraded DAL from Buy to Hold (Apr 1, 2016). Previously, Deutsche Bank upgraded DAL from Hold to Buy. With the above information in mind, readers should note that the average price target is $61.86, which is 46.52% above where the stock opened this morning.
