Following nomadic Alberto as he attempts to escape a Kafkaesque NYC, the award-winning adventure dramedy film is now available to watch on Amazon.
NEW YORK - March 21, 2022 - PRLog -- Alberto and the Concrete Jungle, the award-winning adventure dramedy film, makes its VOD debut today on Amazon in the US and UK. It has played at festivals including the renowned Cinequest and has won a Best Actor and pair of Best Feature Film awards. Alberto and the Concrete Jungle charts the variety of absurdly frustrating characters and situations a digital nomad must face as he attempts to leave NYC and return to his free-spirited life. The making of the film was an adventure itself: mammoth in scope, but produced extremely D-I-Y, demonstrating the savviness of a new filmmaking generation. It boldly ditches exotic locales for NYC streets and presents a Latin American lead and 100+ diverse cast members to highlight the city's melting pot.

"Sticking with the indie mentality that categorized this entire production, I said no to the more usual distribution offers," said writer/director Chris Shimojima. "With Indie Rights, in under a month, our film is already out on Amazon, immediately giving audiences the chance to finally see this unique representation of one of their favorite cities."

With nomadic and remote lifestyles all the rage, the film is well-timed. It's the product of Shimojima's own adventurous attitude. With a tiny camera, he ran all over NYC's 5 boroughs, making real street life the backdrop. He incorporated maps and Google Earth to give added perspective to scenes. The arthouse ambition meant an irreverent tone, mixing Indiana Jones with absurdism and heavy plotting with improvisation, all while penning a love letter to New York pre-pandemic.
Alberto and the Concrete Jungle is distributed by LA-based Indie Rights. More VOD outlets will be announced at a later date.
