Ayers Career College, Shreveport’s oldest and leading career college announced that they have partnered with CVS Health to support, train, and retain Pharmacy Technicians in Northwest Louisiana and the surrounding area. The two companies have a long history, and this announcement cements what has been in practice for over a decade.

Ayers Career College was established in 1953 and has been training men and women for new careers in healthcare and the skilled trades. In addition to the area’s leading Pharmacy Technician program, they also offer training programs for Medical Assisting, Heating/AC/Refrigeration and Healthcare Administration Assistant.

CVS Health has recently expanded its operations and is constantly looking for new Pharmacy Technicians to support and further expand their relationship with their communities. They believe that Ayers Career College is the best place for this initiative. This partnership commits CVS to the support of Ayers students and Ayers to the support of CVS Pharmacies. Each student is trained in CVS’ mission, vision, and values before they even graduate. CVS is also able to interview each student ahead of graduation and recruit the best and brightest to provide the best possible service to the Northwest Louisiana market.

CVS has awarded five $500 scholarships to Pharmacy Technician students who have excelled in their program. They have also installed a wall wrap on Ayers’ campus highlighting and celebrating the partnership. They send a representative every six weeks to speak with the students about the duties of a Pharmacy Technician and possible career paths once they are fully certified.

Together, Ayers Career College and CVS Health are eager to continue their long tradition of supporting the Northwest Louisiana region in new and exciting ways. This partnership will be officially announced at 9 AM on Thursday, May 2 at the Ayers Career College campus.
