You know her as Lydia Wright, recording artist, actress and pastor of Praise at Just Jesus Ministries. She’s set to make her mark in the film industry with the highly anticipated movie adaptation of her timeless stage play, "Granny's Place.” Lydia's venture into filmmaking promises to bring a fresh perspective to the big screen.

A unique talent, Lydia has graced stages nationwide musically with Thomas Whitfield, on theatrical stages with Michael Matthews, and internationally appearing on esteemed television platforms with Dr. Bobby Jones. Her journey in the world of theater gave her invaluable exposure and experiences. This inspired her to create her own stage productions. Her global experiences have enriched her perspective and shaped her storytelling, fueling her passion to write uplifting and inspiring content for audiences worldwide.

Lydia is totally devoted to pastoring her loving congregation, yet her pulpit is not her prison. Despite her significant contributions to ministry, her creativity knows no bounds. During the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, she married Larry Hamilton on March 7, 2020 re establishing her brand as Lydia Wright-Hamilton. They navigated the challenges of lockdown, and immersed themselves in a variety of movies streaming on platforms like Prime, Netflix, Hulu, and Tubi.

Lydia was struck by the prevalence of profanity, nudity and negativity in many contemporary films and saw the necessity to offer alternative content that uplifts and inspires. This realization led her to adapt one of her cherished stage plays, "Granny's Place," into a screenplay, aiming to provide viewers with family-friendly entertainment.

"Granny's Place: The Movie" follows the heartwarming story of a grandmother's struggle to share her vintage Christian values with her granddaughters amidst the challenges of the modern world. The cast features prominent pastors from Detroit, including Bishop Corletta J. Vaughn, Pastor Welton Smith, and Bishop Eric Lloyd. It also features Recording artist Dr Bobby Jones, Everett Drake, Samoht and she proudly presents the phenomenal soundtrack scored by her incomparable son, Evan Brice. The film promises to captivate audiences with its powerful message of faith, love, and resilience.

Filming for "Granny's Place: The Movie" commenced in November 2022, and the movie is scheduled to premiere on May 23, 2024. Lydia’s visionary approach to storytelling and commitment to wholesome entertainment makes "Granny's Place" a must-see film for audiences of all ages.
