On June 1, 2007, Rite Aid Corporation ("Rite Aid" or the "Company") issued a press release announcing that the Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”) has accepted Rite Aid's proposed consent order relating to the closing of Rite Aid's acquisition of the Brooks and Eckerd drugstore chains from The Jean Coutu Group (PJC) Inc. Rite Aid also said that it expects the acquisition to close on June 4, 2007. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
